Amazon.com Product Description
Specifically made for women, with its lightweight and slender design, this all-in-one heart rate monitor and sports watch by Reebok uses a patented method called "pulse technology" to measure the electrical pulses sent out by your heart each time it beats. Of course, the amazing part is that it works by finger touch rather than the cumbersome chest strap used by most other heart monitors. Within four seconds of touching the sensors on the watch, you can get not only an accurate heart rate reading, but also the number of calories burned during your workout.

The monitor has a programmable heart rate zone with audible and visual alarms to alert you when you get out of zone, plus a settable alarm if you have a maximum rate you should not exceed. Made from durable plastic and fully water-resistant, the device also features regular watch functions, plus a 100-hour stopwatch and countdown timer. It comes with a complete walking and exercise guide and one-year warranty.

About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs   March 8, 2010
Martushka
I just received the watch and like it very much. It took me a minute out of the box to figure out I had to press the start button to get going---duh. The directions only mention that once, and not at the very beginning, however this is more of a reflection on me since I haven't had any other digital watches.
The HR monitor worked fine for me quite quickly. In the beginning I wasn't getting a reading every time, and sometimes it still takes closer to 8 than 3 seconds. But as I'm getting accustomed to using the flat pads of my fingers, it's working faster and more consistently. It just takes a bit of practice.
It is very accurate according to the HR monitor on my treadmill, and it is fun to check my HR during activities away from the treadmill, such as my real resting pulse (lying down), when I'm up, when I'm moving about, and so on.
It's unrealistic to expect a continuous reading out of a product like this, and it's not suitable for someone who just has to know what's going on while they're running hard outside and doesn't want to pause or slow down to check their HR. I didn't want anything complicated, and I couldn't bear the idea of wearing a strap after ascertaining my general HR the first few times on the treadmill at various levels of exertion.
By the way, if you find it awkward to use your index and middle fingers to press the two buttons, it worked for me using my thumb and middle finger.

4 out of 5 stars Reebok Fitwatch 10S   February 26, 2010
Dolores E. Hart (Aurora, CO USA)
This item was as I expected it to be. You have to overtly press two keys at the same time to get a heart rate. This is a little inconvenient, however the alternative of wearing a band around your chest to get a continual read out of your heart rate has its own set of problems.

It definitely fits a small wrist as I didn't have to cinch it all the way.

It was a little difficult to set up, it's not that intuitive, but I finally got it set up.

1 out of 5 stars Poor quality   February 22, 2010
V. Mahaney (Raleigh, NC)
I love the functionality and ease of use of this watch, but I've had two now in the last two years. They just aren't made well and don't last. The first one just quit working completely, everything went blank after about a year and changing the battery didn't make a difference. The second one all of a sudden started freaking out, all fields would show 8's and it would just start beeping incessantly until I either removed the battery or it died. This was particularly irritating when it happened at 3am.

2 out of 5 stars Not for runners   February 18, 2010
Fay P. Wells (Thornlie, WA, AU)
Purchased this product to prevent going too fast too soon, I'm running again after sixteen years bringing up children. Only problem is, whenever my heart rate is rapidly approaching my max, the fitwatch fails to give a reading. After I've slowed down it works, however that isn't when I need it.

1 out of 5 stars A horrible and cheap product!   February 12, 2010
S. Kemp (San Francisco, CA, USA)
Received the watch and it looks cheap and it doesn't work. I call Reebok and no one called me back. I think it needed a battery, but that is not a good way to send a new product to a customer. I am sending it back and going to a sporting goods store this weekend to pick one up. I really should not even have given it one star.
